Summer in Baltimore… we have all been waiting for the warm air and sun to frolick in, and none of us more than the children. Here is my daughter reveling in the afternoon sun. Catching those fleeting moments of bliss is what I love most… the sun in her hair, laughing and jumping… I remember those days when the summer felt like a whole year. Staying outside all day, chasing lighting bugs at night…exhausted but restful sleep and always excited about the next day of summer.

watch out for the water hose!

LaKaye took this image today… I cropped it and enhanced the color…look what teamwork created. ~ Michele
LaKaye: The lips are so sparkly! Gotta admit, I'm enjoying the extra sauce applied to your lips.

Photography lets you create what your mind sees and not just your eyes. I took these images of a dog, a bottle, a street and a friend to share how I see things.
The fire hydrant on this lonely street is so orange against the green trees. I have driven past it a million times and always thought it was oddly beautiful. I saturated the image and reduced the clarity to give it a surreal look. The dog, Fu Man Chu, was very agitated by the flash, but I got this image at his level and you can see the curiosity and irritation in his eyes… a mean doggie portrait. Smoke is always a beautiful image… it becomes a solid thing when captured. The bottle is green and the sunlight was so bright through it, and with the blurred image behind it, it makes me wonder what is behind and around the bottle. This shot is my favorite. I like green a lot too.
I am up early this morning. Its gray and rainy outside, and the gray sky makes the trees look even greener. So I don’t mind the rain so much because it makes the trees and grass so lush. This will be a relaxing Sunday, as I look forward to bringing to life our many plans and projects. It’s all very exciting, growing this business, meeting new people, and living creatively. I’m looking forward to keeping you, dear reader, right there with me as we move forward to success, creative growth and prosperity. ~ Michele
This is my first official post at the brand new Soulstice City Photography website and I’m so excited!
Unless you’ve been under a rock, (or on the LOST island running away from smoke monsters) you’ve seen or at least heard of Slumdog Millionaire. It seems like all of America is suddenly in love with all things Indian. For the record, I have ALWAYS been in love with the richness of India-from chicken tikka masala with onion kulcha to the beautiful saris and the handsome men! So I was especially thrilled with this year’s theme for the Contemporary Museum’s 20th Anniversary - Bollywood. I have been honored to shoot for the museum’s galas for several years. They’re always fun, creative and a feast for the eyes! This year was no exception. They took an ordinary room and turned it into a Bollywood disco, complete with Indian food, drinks and films. I would also like to note that I had my first taste of a Charm City Cake and it was the best damn cake I’ve EVER had!!! The directors and supporters of the Contemporary know how to party in style. Take a look at the details that went into putting this event together and you’ll see what I mean.
