About LaKaye

My best friend, gave me a camera and my very first shoot was amazing! I don’t know if it was talent or pure luck, but that shoot changed my course of action for good. From there I took a basic photography class and fell in love with developing B&W fim in the darkroom and taking portraits. The rest of my college years were spent chasing my friends around campus with my camera in hand trying to recreate iamges I’d seen in magazines.

Although, I started shooting in college and got my first “real” photography job at Walmart/KMart portrait studios soon after, it’s taken several years and a layoff to bring me to who I am now. A Full-Time Photographer.

Every person is unique and each session presents specific rewards; Everyone has natural beauty and I love bringing it out. I shoot with an eye towards bold colors and black & white imagery and I like to keep the sessions light-hearted. So many women are overly concerned with being a certain size or looking a certain way. Boudoir photography gives me the opportunity to let them know it’s OK to feel sexy right now!

When I’m not capturing the moment, I’m teaching photography and graphic design or travelling as much as possible. I’m also knee-deep in a project photographing tattoos, piercings and other body art. If you have some body adornments, let me know and I’ll fill you in on the details.

I LOVE: Magazines, Travel, Music, Ourdoor festivals, African Dance, Beaches, Dark Chocolate, Comedies, Tattoos

NO THANKS: Movies that make me cry, Shrimp, Roller Coasters, Mean People
